Pete the Cat

Here is Carter reading Pete the Cat.  The kids LOVE this book! He watched this book read on Utube with Gran lots and she sent it to the kids.  Carter 'read' it right away.  I just had to get it on video.

Creeper Crawlers

Yesterda we made a quick trip to Victoria to get our passports.  We decided to make it a family trip.  We left right after Carter's preschool.  Jaice and I had remembered seeing a Bug Zoo the last time we were in Victoria and we figured the kids would love it.  We are so glad we went!  Both kids thought it was so great!  I think Jaice's excitement was on a similar level as the kids.

Carter started soccer last week and is really enjoying it.  He thought he should get to change team colours every week, but we have convinced him that green is a good colour to be all season.  He is getting better at using his feet more than his hands.  Jaice gets to do soccer with both kids on Sunday's while I am at work.  Kinley loves to run along with Carter.

Kinley is talking more and more.  She loves to yell for Carter.  "Ta Ter, Ta Ter'.  She has figured out how to get all the shapes in her shape ball all by herself!  She loves it.  She is also doing great with her puzzles.  She loves to get them out and gets very excited when her piece goes in the way she wants it.  She is doing pretty good with her colours.  She loves purple so whenever she sees it she excitedly says 'prple prple'.

The weather is supposed to be nice all week, so we will hopefully be out as often as we can.

Rolling, rolling, rolling

Here is a video of the kids and Jaice at the park.....it pretty much sums us up in 45 seconds!

Beautiful Day!

It was a beautiful day yesterday!  The sun was out in full force and it felt like the chill of winter is finally leaving.  I realize both kids look a little grubby but I put them in their 'play' clothes when I know we are going to get messy.  Both kids haven't been feeling all that great.  Carter was throwing up on Monday and had a bit of a fever.  Kinley is a snotty mess and has a cough (again).  I don't know if what Kinley has is allergies or a cold.  Her eyes are all weepy as well and Jaice has been sneezing like crazy so it makes me think that she might just have her daddy's allergies!  Despite the sickness we had lots of fun outside yesterday.  Carter was out from just after lunch until 4:30.  Kinley managed (with the help of benadryl) to get out for a couple of hours after her nap.  We had supper really quick and then went for a walk to play in the big grassy field.  The kids love running around, playing in the mud, and exploring the big rocks and bridges.
We are excited to have Gran and Grampy (Bapa) here for Easter!  Every morning Carter asks me how many more sleeps?!  He is also excited that he gets to go to the airport to pick them up. We are hoping the sun sticks around and we get to have an easter egg hunt outside this year.
We hope everyone has a great Easter and I will post pictures early next week :)

Felt board fun

I made some felt easter eggs for the kids today thinking Kinley wouldn't really care about it.  Well I sure am glad that I made two sets.  Kinley LOVED it.  She decorated and redecorated for almost an hour!  I am glad the video loaded :)  Excuse my running commentary.

Carter doesn't have preschool next week because of spring break so I have been trying to think of fun things for us to do to occupy the extra time we will have.  I have come up with quite a few easter themed crafts so it should be a fun week.  Carter matched upper and lower case letters on easter eggs today.  He had lots of fun.  When the egg carton was full he put it in the fridge to surprise daddy with the eggs you can't eat.  It was so cute!

Crab walk

Carter asked if we could walk on our hands.  I had to get him to show me what he meant.....there is no way I can walk on just my hands!  After his demonstration we determined that he wanted to do the crab walk.  We ended up having crab walk races.  I forgot how much energy it actually takes to do the crab walk....I think I need to workout more :)  Kinley was fascinated by this fun way to get around and quickly adapted her own version.  Lots of laughs were had at the Granson house tonight!  Next time Jaice can do the racing and I will film!

Playing at the park

The sun was shining this morning so we decided to go for a walk and a bike ride.  Kinley has had a cold for the last few days so she spent most of her walk in the stroller.  We got to show daddy the swan down in the water.  Carter was pretty excited about it.  Carter loves to climb and jump around and this park has some great things to accommodate his love of climbing.  The 'beam' he is on is on springs so the heavier you are the more it shakes.....I should have gotten a video of Jaice and I trying it! :)
Kinley also loves to climb.....I wonder where she gets that from?!  She also loves the slide.  Sorry her video is more of her back than anything.  So much fun!

The lake, the ocean, and a bike ride!

Whew, we did a lot today!  We went to the lake this morning.  The kids had a lot of fun.  They got really dirty and really wet!  We had to do one wardrobe change with Carter half way through....next time we will bring extra boots!  Kinley should have been the most wet, but her fleece lined pants held up quite well.  After Kinleys nap we decided to take the kids down by the water for a bike ride.  Well Carter rode his bike and Kinley hung out in the stroller.  After our walk/bike ride we wondered down by the water to throw rocks in.  Lots of fun was had today.  Lots of laundry for me tomorrow :)

Outdoor fun!

The weather has warmed up quite a bit this week!  We are taking full advantage and getting out as much as we can.  Wednesday I decided to take the kids to a park down by the water.....well it was REALLY windy!!!  Kinley could barley breathe when the wind hit her face...opps!  We did manage to see a huge swan and go out on a dock to get a closer look.  I packed the kids back in the car thinking it might be less windy further from the water, not really.  But I was bound and determined to get outside with the kids, so we went for a walk in the forrest.  It is pretty covered so we were covered from most of the wind.  The kids had so much fun!  They were running and jumping in puddles.  I didn't bring my camera because I didn't think it would be quite the adventure.  We made it home about 30 minutes before the storm hit.  Talk about good timing.  Thursday the sun actually made an appearance so we patiently (I use that word loosely) waited for Kinley to get up from her nap and Daddy to get home before we headed out for another walk in the forrest.  This time I brought my camera!  And with Valentine's Day coming up I suggested we find objects shaped like hearts.  It was a hit with Carter, and Kinley liked following behind finding rocks and leaves.  It turns out Jaice is much more abstract than Carter and I.....we couldn't see the hearts that he saw :)

I checked the weather last night and I knew it was going to be a rain free day today so I knew we were going to try the park again!  It was so much fun.  We ended up being down there for the entire morning!  We played in the park, found the swan again (and took a picture to show daddy), and threw rocks in the water.  I hadn't put too much thought into the idea of throwing rocks in the water when I suggested it....Kinley has never really done it before.  So after I fished her out of the water before she got too deep and she had her little fit because she wasn't allowed to go swimming, we had a blast!  Kinley thought Carter's splashes were pretty cool.  He tried to find the biggest rocks he could.  We even ran into some friends from preschool.  All in all a great day.
