Crab walk

Carter asked if we could walk on our hands.  I had to get him to show me what he meant.....there is no way I can walk on just my hands!  After his demonstration we determined that he wanted to do the crab walk.  We ended up having crab walk races.  I forgot how much energy it actually takes to do the crab walk....I think I need to workout more :)  Kinley was fascinated by this fun way to get around and quickly adapted her own version.  Lots of laughs were had at the Granson house tonight!  Next time Jaice can do the racing and I will film!

Playing at the park

The sun was shining this morning so we decided to go for a walk and a bike ride.  Kinley has had a cold for the last few days so she spent most of her walk in the stroller.  We got to show daddy the swan down in the water.  Carter was pretty excited about it.  Carter loves to climb and jump around and this park has some great things to accommodate his love of climbing.  The 'beam' he is on is on springs so the heavier you are the more it shakes.....I should have gotten a video of Jaice and I trying it! :)
Kinley also loves to climb.....I wonder where she gets that from?!  She also loves the slide.  Sorry her video is more of her back than anything.  So much fun!

The lake, the ocean, and a bike ride!

Whew, we did a lot today!  We went to the lake this morning.  The kids had a lot of fun.  They got really dirty and really wet!  We had to do one wardrobe change with Carter half way through....next time we will bring extra boots!  Kinley should have been the most wet, but her fleece lined pants held up quite well.  After Kinleys nap we decided to take the kids down by the water for a bike ride.  Well Carter rode his bike and Kinley hung out in the stroller.  After our walk/bike ride we wondered down by the water to throw rocks in.  Lots of fun was had today.  Lots of laundry for me tomorrow :)

Outdoor fun!

The weather has warmed up quite a bit this week!  We are taking full advantage and getting out as much as we can.  Wednesday I decided to take the kids to a park down by the water.....well it was REALLY windy!!!  Kinley could barley breathe when the wind hit her face...opps!  We did manage to see a huge swan and go out on a dock to get a closer look.  I packed the kids back in the car thinking it might be less windy further from the water, not really.  But I was bound and determined to get outside with the kids, so we went for a walk in the forrest.  It is pretty covered so we were covered from most of the wind.  The kids had so much fun!  They were running and jumping in puddles.  I didn't bring my camera because I didn't think it would be quite the adventure.  We made it home about 30 minutes before the storm hit.  Talk about good timing.  Thursday the sun actually made an appearance so we patiently (I use that word loosely) waited for Kinley to get up from her nap and Daddy to get home before we headed out for another walk in the forrest.  This time I brought my camera!  And with Valentine's Day coming up I suggested we find objects shaped like hearts.  It was a hit with Carter, and Kinley liked following behind finding rocks and leaves.  It turns out Jaice is much more abstract than Carter and I.....we couldn't see the hearts that he saw :)

I checked the weather last night and I knew it was going to be a rain free day today so I knew we were going to try the park again!  It was so much fun.  We ended up being down there for the entire morning!  We played in the park, found the swan again (and took a picture to show daddy), and threw rocks in the water.  I hadn't put too much thought into the idea of throwing rocks in the water when I suggested it....Kinley has never really done it before.  So after I fished her out of the water before she got too deep and she had her little fit because she wasn't allowed to go swimming, we had a blast!  Kinley thought Carter's splashes were pretty cool.  He tried to find the biggest rocks he could.  We even ran into some friends from preschool.  All in all a great day.

A fun Saturday morning

I had the camera out this morning and caught the kids being......well themselves! :)  Carter loves to sing songs and will usually sing and sing until I bring the camera out, but today he wanted to sing for the camera!  I got a longer video, but it wouldn't load.  He also thinks he can read now.  It is quite funny what he 'reads' and what is actually written! I will try and catch him reading on camera soon.  Kinle LOVES Eric the penguin she got for Christmas.  He is carted around quite regularly.  Kinley and him have happy feet dances all the time.  Any time you ask her to show you her happy feet she gets a big grin and dances like crazy!

Hockey is back!!! YAY!  Sports Centre was getting really boring!  Jaice had a couple of guys over the watch the Calgary/Edmonton game last weekend.  They other guys unfortunately happen to be Oiler fans, so I had to dress the kids up in their Flames shirts!  I went out for the night and when I changed out of my Flames shirt Carter was concerned that I no longer matched the rest of the family.  I assured him I would still be cheering for the Flames!
We are finally getting over this cold that has been in our house for the entire month of January.  We are looking forward to a healthy February!
