Great visit!

"Look Mom, a dog!"
We sure have been busy! Gran and Grandpa came for a visit over the weekend! It was so great to see them. Carter loved walking around with Grandpa and having book time with Gran. We had some great weather while they were here and had a chance to get out in the sun!
I can't believe Carter is 7 months already! He is growing so fast. His teeth seem to be bugging him lately. He has been a cuddly baby lately.....I'll take it when I can get it! He is really liking baby time and seeing all his friends. We went to the pool last week and Carter loved it! He was more interested in swimming and splashing on his front. He also likes when we go to the part of the pool where he can touch the bottom and jump up and down in the water! We decided to get the finger paint out again and see if Carter liked it! He is quite the artist!
The sun is out again today so we are going to spend the afternoon outside with some friends!

Big day

Today was a big day for Carter. I posted a video of him practicing crawling earlier, but that wasn't the only thing he did today. We had a play date with Cassidy and Lucas this afternoon! Carter really likes Cassidy. She is 2 weeks younger and is adorable. They were poking at each other and Carter was talking to her. He had so much fun this afternoon he came home and had an hour and a half nap! Earlier this morning Carter was playing in bed with me and he found his empty bottle on the pillow....guess who can pick up his bottle and put it in his mouth?????
CARTER CAN!!! He won't hold it for too long but the skill is there!
Carter is also blowing bubble all the time! Don't get too close or you will get wet!
We hope all is well with everyone!

CRAWLING

Well we aren't crawling yet, but we sure had fun practicing tonight! Tonight was the first time he held himself up with his arms. Everytime we have tried before he would just have his face on the floor! He did a great job and we are so proud of him!
Enjoy the video!

A little of this and that

We have been keeping busy. Carter finally rolled over....just once but he did it all by himself! There were witnesses so he had an audience! He went from his back to his front and then was confused when he got there. He is really enjoying being able to sit up and play. He loves to bang his toys. He is not a quiet baby, but we have a lot of fun playing. He is still loving his jolly jumper and will jump and jump all day. He is talking more and more each day. He has started to try and make the 'ba' sound. He thinks he need to stick his tongue out to do it so if you get too close you will end up wet! He loves to make bubbles with his mouth which makes eating supper FUN! Food is his favourite thing. There isn't much he doesn't like. Green beans seem to be the only consistent food he doesn't like, but if we mix it with anything else he will eat it. We have started with Cheerios. He can pick them up but he can't get them out of the palm of his hand yet. We are working on that. He does really well with chewing and moving the food around with his tongue. It is so amazing watching him grow and learn new things all the time! Daddy is Carter's favourite. His whole face lights up when Jaice comes home from work.
Enjoy the pictures and we hope everyone is doing well!

6 MONTHS

Wow, what a busy month so far! I can't believe that January is already half over! Carter turned 6 months on the 12th. For his birthday he got to go to the doctors!! YAY for him. Actually it turned out to be a great appointment for him. He is 20lbs and 29 inches long. He is off the charts for height!! The doctor told us to start feeding him meat. I was just getting in the swing of veggies and fruit! So that night he had the meat from our cabbage rolls! He loved it. He is back to sleeping through the night! He must have been hungry! He still isn't rolling over....the doctor said don't worry about it. He has the strength to, he just has no desire to. He has been playing with the dogs a lot more! Ewok just walks away when he is done (or when Carter doesn't have any food). Toby loves Carter and will let Carter torture him as long as he wants! We feel sorry for him already. Carter had his shots yesterday. He cried for all of 20 seconds, and was really excited when we let him sit on the floor and play with the toys! There was another little girl there getting weighed in, she was 20 lbs and her mom was all excited because she is 2!!!! Jaice and I just laughed that we have a 20lb 6 month old! Gran and Grandpa are coming in February and we are so excited!!!! It will be a quick but nice visit!
On Sunday we went up to Mount Washington with Auntie Cathy and Uncle Dave! It was great to see snow again. It was foggy so we couldn't see much of the mountain, but it was a nice drive. We will have to go up again soon!
The batteries died in our camera, so not a lot of pictures have been taken. I have batteries loaded now so watch out! We will post some pictures soon!
We hope all is well with everyone and we hope everyone is having a great new year!

HAPPY NEW YEAR

It is day time....the flash makes it look darker!

"Look mom, I can sit, stick my tongue out, AND play with my book!"

Holy, I can't believe how fast 2009 went by! It was a busy year for us. We are so excited to see what adventures 2010 bring for us!
Well to start the new year off with a bang, Carter has 4-5 teeth coming in. I thought I saw 4 and Jaice thinks he sees 5. Poor little guy. He is a bit grumpy, but is powering through. He is loving all the food he gets to eat now. So far pea's and sweet potatoes are his favourite. I am getting the hang of making the food for him....the new food processor from Uncle Drew for Christmas helps a lot! I made apple sauce the other day and Jaice was mad because I didn't make any for him. Apparently he needs some as well! Carter is almost sitting completely on his own. It depends on what pants he is wearing. Now we just put a blanket down with pillows around him so that when he falls over it's ok.
Today we went for a mini-hike in Elk falls. Jaice says that he needs practice with the backpack before we venture too far! It was beautiful! I still can't believe it was +6 in January. The dogs are loving all the exploring we are doing. Carter fell asleep in the backpack. It was adorable!
Well that is all that is new for now. I am hoping to get Carter weighed this week. I am thinking he is 20 lbs! He goes for his 6 month shots on the 18th (6 months already.....time sure flies) and we will get him measured then!
We hope everyone had a great new years and wish everyone a very happy, healthy 2010!
