Easter fun

Well the Easter bunny made it to our house! He brought chocolate and books. Carter was more interested in finding the eggs once he figured out there was chocolate inside! This also meant that with every egg he found he wanted to open it and eat the chocolate. The smart little monkey figured out how to get the chocolate eggs out of their wrapping!
Gran and Grandpa came for a visit! We had such a great time with them. Carter called Grandpa 'grampytoo' and he is still working on Gran. Carter had do much fun outside with Grandpa putting in the garden boxes. While fixing up the yard Daddy discovered a snake! What and exciting treat! Carter loved watching it slither. Every time he is outside he goes looking for it. We think it is gone now....but you never know! Gran and Grandpa got Carter a harmonica for Easter. It took Carter a little bit to figure out how it worked. Once he got that figured he was a music man! He took out his stool and stood on top of it to play. What a little monkey!
We hope everyone had a great Easter. We will post pictures of the garden and the yard when we get things planted this weekend!
We miss everyone lots.

Backyard fun

Jumping bean

Videos

We have taken a few videos lately and wanted to share. Carter is talking more and more and we are slowly figuring out what he is saying. He loves to sing. When he is alone or if he thinks you aren't paying attention to him in the car he will start singing. His go to song is 'Twinkle Twinkle Little Star'. He wants us to sing it every night before bed. He still loves to be outside a lot, so we invested in a BIG bottle of bubbles and have already had lots of fun with them. Jumping is his new favourite thing. He climbs up on the bottom stair and jumps off. He is getting pretty good height. We are a little scared as he is wanting to jump off of more and more. So far we have stopped him from jumping off anything too high. I am sure the time will come where he manages to get on the table and jumps off.....not looking forward to that!

Jumping into the pool

Here is a video of Carter jumping into the pool during one of his swimming lessons. He sure does love the water. Enjoy

It has been too long

I haven't blogged in what seems like forever! We have been busy. Carter is learning so much right now. He is talking more and more daily. He is really trying to communicate with us. Everyday new words are popping up in his vocabulary. Nana and Grandpa were just here for a visit. Carter sure loved having them around. He can say nana clear as a bell and grandpa is now grampy. It is finally looking like spring around here. We try and get outside as often as we can. Carter loves to be outside. Sometimes he gets mad when we go out and get in the car instead of going for a walk. He finished his swimming lessons and passed with flying colours......the only problem is he can't move onto the next section until he is 3! We are taking a month and a bit off and then going back into the same lessons again. He loves to be in the water and it is fun for him so we will keep it up for a while. The pool is closed during the summer so we want to get in as often as we can for now. They have an outdoor pool in the summer, but I think we will be spending lots of time at the lake and the beach this summer. So much more room to run! Carter still loves trucks and all that goes them! The look on his face is priceless when we see a 'dumpy' (dump truck) or a 'buit' (bucket truck). He is still as busy as ever but has a new found interest in puzzles. He doesn't like to do them one at a time, we have to have them all out together. He will take all the pieces out and then put them all back together. It can be a process but he loves it. He does great with them. He mostly has puzzles with the pictures on the board so they are easier to find, but he has figured out his ones with no pictures. We are going to look for some new ones this weekend. We are also on the hunt for some fun backyard toys. Now that we see the sun from time to time we like to get out more. Buckets, shovels and 1 riding toy aren't cutting it anymore. Nana and Grampy bought him a lawn mower so Carter and daddy can get out and mow the lawn (hint hint). He still eats like a champ. I am a little fearful for my future! He will have no problem keeping up to his uncles and daddy! The new little one is doing well. We had our ultrasound last week and there is only 1 in there!!! Whew! The doctor said everything is looking great. Carter got to hear the heart beat. He seemed pretty interested and then wanted the doctor to listen to the baby in his tummy, priceless.
