I'm a little pine tree....
Here is Carter at his very first Christmas concert! We were very excited about it. Nana and Grampy made it in time to come as well! Carter did lots of practicing at home, so we had a good idea of what he was singing. He wasn't the loudest but he sure was proud of himself when he came to us at the end! We were so happy for him. Lots of smiles and laughs all around. The words to the song are:
I'm a little Pine Tree, as you can see.
All the other pine tree's are bigger than me.
Maybe when I grow up I will be,
A great big Merry Christmas Tree!

Snow much fun!
Today in the kids advent calendar the note said 'Let's find some snow!'. Carter was a little worried about the trip because he was convinced snow came from the north pole and that is a long way away. I assured him that there was snow around here, but we just needed to go looking for it. We set out after Kinley's nap. Carter fell asleep on the way out there, so he was a little grumpy when we first got out of the car. We took them in the sled and set out to play in the snow. We found a little hill and lots of snow. The kids LOVED going sledding. Hearing their giggles was the best sound in the world. Sledding was by far Kinley's favourite thing to do. Carter's favourite was playing king of the castle and pushing Jaice off the snow bank! We made snow angels and had a few snowball fights and did lots of sledding. It was starting to get dark so we had to leave....the kids did not want to! We are going to try and get up there as often as we can this winter. We usually only get a handful of days with snow. Which usually turns to rain and slush quite quick, so it is nice to have the mountain about 40 minutes away.

Quick trip to the park
The sun was out yesterday so we took a quick trip to the park! Kinley LOVES the slide at the pool and has been going down pretty much by herself for a little while now. She got very excited when she saw the big slide at the park. I had to help her a few times because it is quite a bit bigger than the one at the pool, but once she figured it out there was no stopping her. I forgot the camera, but I had my phone with me, so this is the video I got! I love the big smile on her face! So much fun! We are having an amazing winter so far. We are super lucky. We have managed a few bike rides and trips to the park already. I will try and remember the camera next time and get some pictures of both kids at the park :)

Santa Claus is coming to town :)
This was a full weekend! Friday night was the annual Big Truck Parade! This is one of Carter's favourite things. He continually asks about it all year and was so very excited when I told him it was the day to go! We weren't sure Kinley would like it because the trucks honk and it is very loud. Well she loved it! She thought it was the greatest thing and loved going around to see all the trucks that were parked after. The rain held off for the parade and started back up while we were looking at the trucks. It worked out great! I have to admit this is one of my favourite parts of the Christmas season as well :)
Saturday I had planned a cookie decorating party to kick off the kids advent calendar. We are doing family activities this year in their calendars instead of candy. It turned out only one set of friends could make it, which was a little sad, but we still had lots of fun! I was a little worried when Carter opened door # 1 and found a piece of paper instead of a candy he would be disappointed, but he was so excited! "Mommy, it's a special message!" Me: Carter what does it say? Carter: 'Dear Carter.....mommy you need to read the rest." It said 'Today we get to have a cookie party!' He was so excited and I had to remind him that the calendar was for him AND Kinley :)
Today was the Santa Parade. Carter said his favourite part was when they threw candy at him and Kinley's favourite part was the big dump truck! She squealed and laughed when she saw it. It was at the Big Truck Parade as well and she had the same reaction both times! Jaice got a picture at the most perfect moment! We also got to see Santa today! Kinley surprised us both and actually sat on Santa's knee! She has a general hate on for people she doesn't know so this is a BIG step for her. We get the picture next week, we can't wait to see it. We were there a little early so Carter got to meet Santa as he came in. He was pretty excited about that! What a fun filled weekend!
The blog keeps telling me I have reached my limit, but in the past I have just waited a day or so and I can post again. So check back for pictures soon! I hope the video works :)
Look what Kinley can do!
Here is Kinley's new trick! She loves when she gets to jump into the pool, so she got so excited when she figured out how to get up onto the stool. I counted for her and she started diving off. I think I might have two crazy little one's in my near future! This was taken earlier in the week and she has already mastered getting on the stool with no problem! She has also started talking so much more lately. When we ask her what Santa says she says 'hmm hmm hmm' instead of 'ho ho ho'. It is so cute. She gets a big grin and is very proud of herself! She knows what an elephants says, a cow, a sheep, Santa, and she just started signing more. She will come and yell at me first when she wants more, but when I ask her what she wants she will sign it. If I take too long she will resume the yelling. :) She now has 12 teeth with about 4 more coming in. They all seemed to pop up at once. She loves to laugh!! If she hears anyone laughing she will break out in giggles. It is really cute!
We had a busy weekend this weekend. I will post our pictures after this one.
