Trucks and more trucks

Jaice took Carter down to the car show on Sunday. They had a great time together. Carter loved looking at all the wheels and expecially loved the big trucks!
We put Carter's stamps tee-shirt on him just for grandpa on Monday! Grandpa is lucky that he just looks adorable! Don't worry Rider green is still our favourite colour!
Nana and Grandpa get here on Thursday so we are looking forward to that visit!
It will be a busy weekend!
Oh and we measured Carter on his growth chart and he is 33.5 inches tall when he is standing flat footed! Our little man is growing so fast!

Time Flies!

Wow, where did August go? I haven't updated the blog in a while! We have been busy. Gran and Grandpa were here for a week in August. We had such a great visit! Carter sure loved having them here. I am back to work....well just 2 days a week. I am working while Jaice is home for now. I attempted jam for the first time ever! It was a lot of work but so worth it. My friend Rebecca and I made blackberry jam, crab apple jam, and peach jam. We also made a bunch of canned peaches. Not bad for my first time. I also made blackberry scones. Carter sure loves those. We have a huge blackberry bush in our back yard so we have been making good use of it. We have been filling all the empty spaces in the house. It is really feeling like home. I will take pictures when we are finished putting things together.
Carter has been teething like crazy. He has 3 of 4 molars in now. 3 of 4 eye teeth as well. We are looking forward to all his teeth coming through so we can have a break before his 2 year molars make an appearance! Carter is running everywhere now. We are loving the walking stage. It makes it easier now that I don't have to carry him everywhere. We are a little slower getting places but we are ok with that. He also LOVES trucks! When we are driving all we hear from the back seat is 'whoa ck ck'. We have been going to the library every week so we have a lot of truck books at home right now. He will sit and read forever if there is a truck in the book. Carter and Jaice are off to the car show in town tomorrow. They will definitely get pictures. We have been a little lacking in the picture department lately. We will take more and post more soon!
We hope everyone had a great summer. We miss everyone.

Fun in the sun

We have been enjoying all the nice weather here! We have been to the lake and the ocean a few times. Carter has decided he doesn't really like the taste of sand. Although, if his blueberries fall in the sand he will still eat them! Carter loves being outside. He will sit on the edge of the water and splash and throw rocks in. Bobby and Bradley are here right now. They are so good with Carter. He gets all excited when he wakes up from his nap and they are here! (He rarely sees them first thing in the morning :)) We are off to the cabin for Jaice's days off this weekend. We are looking forward to spending the weekend exploring and having fun outside! Carter had his 1 year shots this week. He was not happy with the nurse! She gave him a sticker when she was finished and he threw it at her! He is still off the charts in height and weight. He is loving all the summer fruits! Blueberries and watermelon are his favourites. He eats blueberries by the hand full! He has started 'running' away from us and trying to get us to chase him! We think it is cute now....I have a feeling that might fade though. He rarely crawls at all now. He is a walking machine. It amazes us how time goes so quickly. He only started crawling in April and now he is running! We are enjoying every moment with him. We love the new house and are slowly getting organized. My parents arrive this weekend with more things to fill the house with! We have been sanding the decks to repaint them. I rarely find a spare moment in my day to sit anymore!

Birthday time!

We can't believe it has almost been a year since Carter was born. Oh and 2 years since we got married! We had Carter's birthday party last night! It was so much fun. There were 5 babies, including Carter! We had a BBQ and kids all walked around and played. It wasn't the nicest weather so we stayed inside. We were so happy to have so many people come to share this time with us. Cassidy is a pro at unwrapping presents so she showed Carter how it was done. Carter had been eyeing up the cake all day and was super excited when it came out for him (see the video). I now know why people pay others to decorate cakes!!! It was a process but he really liked it! We are headed to Alberta on Thursday. It will be a quick trip but it will be nice to see everyone again. We are having another birthday party with family on his actual birthday while we are there. Carter and daddy spent this morning playing with all the new toys. I think we might need to put some of his old ones away......toys seem to be taking over the house!

Happy Canada Day

Well it has been a busy last week. We are all moved in....still unpacking though! We are so thankful to those that helped us move. It made things so much faster and easier on us. We had such a great visit with Uncle Drew, Uncle Cale and Auntie Taryn. Hopefully next year we can all get together again and have a 'vacation' instead of a move! We went downtown yesterday for Canada Day (I brought the camera.....but it didn't have batteries in it!). We went to the children's festival but Carter was too young for it, maybe next year. We walked around the market and then found a grassy area to watch the parade. We watched the parade with Cassidy and Matthew. Carter is walking all over the place now! He is getting faster than me. Oh no! We are having an early birthday party for Carter this weekend so he can celebrate with his friends here! I can't believe that he is 11 days away from turning 1! Time has gone way too fast. I will take lots of pictures on Sunday for everyone!
We hope everyone is doing well and we are looking forward to seeing lots of people when we head to Alberta next weekend!

First Few Steps!!!

After many attempts we finally captured Carter walking on camera!
Enjoy!

June already??

Home Sweet Home.....soon!

"Is there any food left mommy?"

"Don't worry mommy, I got it!!"

"GO RIDERS GO" .... Notice no red Grandpa!

Wow time is just flying by! I can't believe it is June already! This is a very busy month for us. I am getting my knee surgery on Wednesday....yikes! My mom is coming to stay with us for a couple of weeks to help out with Carter and me I guess :) We get the house on the 26th!!! We have been packing as much as we can as I will be kind of useless for the next few weeks. Living surrounded by boxes isn't as bad when you have a house to call home to look forward to. Carter took his first steps on Friday!!! Jaice didn't see him take any until Saturday. We are so proud and scared all at the same time. It will be no time until he is running! In a few short days he has started to get braver and will try to walk to something instead of crawling. I think it has to do with all the cheering we do when he does it! I am going to try and get a video and I will post it. We can't believe how fast time has gone and that Carter is going to be 1 in just over a month! Oh and we will have been married for 2 years! Carter is saying more and more each day. He now tells Jaice to 'go' when he wants to jump with Daddy! Jaice will say '1,2,3,' and Carter will tell him 'GO'. It is really cute. He also says 'dog', 'up', 'mom', 'daddy', 'oh no', 'ewww', 'boo'. He still doesn't imitate very much.....he talks when he wants to! Meal time seems to be where he is the most talkative. 'Daddy' is still the most constant word in his vocabulary. He gets so excited when he sees Jaice.
We are excited to see Nana tomorrow. Uncle Cale, Uncle Drew, and Auntie Taryn will be here at the end of the month as well. Lots of people to see and visit with! We are so lucky to have such great family and friends!
Football season starts next week. Well pre-season anyway! Don't worry we are teaching Carter that a dozen is 12 NOT 13! Maybe next year we will take Carter to a game in Vancouver! He already says 'go' so now we just need to work on 'Riders'! I think my dad might try and teach him 'Stamps'.....but Carter knows Green is better!
We hope all is well with everyone! I will try and post again before we move and then when we get the house I will post pictures!
